No-exam life insurance
Which applicants get fast-tracked underwriting, what makes it tick, and what happens if you don't qualify.
Plenty of insurers now offer rapid underwriting: for applicants in certain age and coverage-amount ranges, they say yes or no by reviewing your application, drug records, driving history and other information rather than requiring a physical. Some approvals arrive the same business day. Each quote on this site tells you if an exam is required, might be required, or isn't required for that option.
What it changes
Skipping an exam doesn't mean skipping review. What you report gets verified, and a policy created on false statements can be disputed in the first two years. If the carrier's investigation surfaces problems, you may still need an exam or labs; you decide whether to move ahead at that stage.
Who tends to qualify
Typically those under roughly sixty seeking amounts below the carrier's accelerated limit, with no substantial health concerns and no tobacco for the past year-plus. Some carriers accept recent lab work from your doctor in place of their exam.
Should you need an exam, it's usually thirty minutes or less conducted by a paramedical examiner who comes to your residence or workplace in the Victorville area, with no charge to you. A strong exam result regularly qualifies applicants for better rates, so it's not automatically a negative.
